    Position Summary

    Misfit Homes is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Property Operations & Maintenance Specialist to help ensure the homes we manage throughout Nashville are consistently clean, functional, well-maintained, and ready for every guest arrival.

    This is a hands-on field position centered around property inspections, preventative care, minor maintenance, technology troubleshooting, and accurate documentation. You’ll inspect homes before and after guest stays, identify issues that need attention, complete routine repairs, troubleshoot property technology, and make sure concerns are documented and followed through to resolution.

    You’ll also support our Operations Manager with new property onboarding, vendor coordination, and improvements to our field operations. This is an excellent fit for someone who notices the details, takes pride in doing things correctly, enjoys solving practical problems, and can be trusted to work independently while maintaining consistent standards across multiple properties.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct detailed property inspections before and after guest stays to ensure homes meet Misfit Homes’ standards for cleanliness, functionality, condition, and guest readiness

    • Complete onboarding inspections for new properties and accurately document property details and outstanding needs

    • Create clear digital inspection reports with photos, notes, and recommended next steps

    • Identify maintenance, cleaning, safety, technology, and property-condition issues and communicate concerns promptly

    • Complete minor repairs and maintenance work orders, including paint touch-ups, fixture replacements, furniture adjustments, and basic household repairs

    • Install, test, and troubleshoot smart locks, Wi-Fi systems, thermostats, cameras, televisions, and other property technology

    • Assist with minor staging, restocking, and routine property care as needed

    • Report larger maintenance concerns and help coordinate qualified outside vendors when necessary

    • Follow up on reported issues to confirm repairs and corrective work have been completed properly

    • Work closely with cleaners, maintenance vendors, guest support, and the Operations Manager to keep properties operating smoothly

    • Maintain accurate records of inspections, completed work, outstanding issues, and property needs

    • Help improve inspection procedures, maintenance systems, and field workflows as the company grows

    • Represent Misfit Homes professionally when interacting with guests, owners, vendors, and neighbors

    Required Qualifications

    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify maintenance, cleanliness, technology, and property-condition issues

    • Basic handyman and maintenance abilities with confidence completing minor household repairs

    • Comfortable troubleshooting Wi-Fi, smart locks, thermostats, televisions, and other household technology

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple properties and priorities

    • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including accurate digital documentation

    • Ability to work independently, follow established procedures, and make sound decisions in the field

    • Dependable, proactive, and committed to following tasks and property issues through to completion

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    • Comfortable traveling between properties throughout the Nashville area

    • Availability to work a full-time, field-based schedule of Sunday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience in property management, hospitality, maintenance, facilities, or short-term rentals

    • Familiarity with smart-home systems such as Yale, Schlage, Nest, Ring, or similar products

    • Experience working with or coordinating cleaners, contractors, or maintenance vendors

    • Previous leadership, field operations, or property operations experience

    Compensation & Schedule

    Hourly Rate

    $16–$20 per hour

    Additional Compensation

    $30 per completed maintenance work order

    Schedule

    • Full-time, field-based position

    • Sunday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

    • Consistent Friday and Saturday off
