We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented property management professional to oversee the daily operations of an affordable housing community with tax credit compliance requirements. This role is responsible for delivering a high standard of resident service, supporting property performance goals, and ensuring adherence to applicable housing regulations, leasing standards, and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the property, including leasing, resident relations, maintenance coordination, and vendor management.
- Ensure compliance with affordable housing program requirements, including income certification, recertification, file maintenance, and audit readiness.
- Maintain accurate resident records and property documentation in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
- Support occupancy goals by managing marketing efforts, processing applications, and guiding prospects through the leasing process.
- Respond to resident inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner, promoting a positive living environment.
- Partner with maintenance teams to address work orders, property upkeep, inspections, and preventive maintenance needs.
- Monitor rent collections, delinquency, and other financial performance indicators, and take appropriate follow-up actions.
- Prepare reports related to occupancy, compliance, turnovers, and property operations as needed.
- Ensure the property is maintained in a clean, safe, and compliant condition at all times.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement property goals, operational improvements, and resident retention strategies.
Qualifications
- Experience in property management, preferably with affordable housing or tax credit housing programs.
- Working knowledge of housing compliance requirements, leasing practices, and resident file documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines accurately.
- Proficiency with property management software and standard business applications.
- Experience preparing reports, maintaining records, and supporting compliance reviews or audits.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with teammates, vendors, and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with affordable housing programs such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC).
- Certification or training related to affordable housing compliance or property management.
- Knowledge of leasing, resident screening, and renewal processes in a multifamily housing environment.
