    Property Maintenance Technician Trainer (Multifamily) Las Vegas, NV

    Travel: approximately 30% (California and Texas)

    Role Overview

    This position is ideal for a seasoned Maintenance Technician who is ready to transition from daily repair work into a leadership and training role. The Technical Maintenance Trainer supports both corporate learning initiatives and hands-on field development. The role blends structured curriculum design with on-site technical coaching across multiple regions.

    The trainer will deliver classroom instruction, virtual training, and side-by-side technical sessions at apartment communities. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and make-ready processes. The trainer will also create clear Standard Operating Procedures, mentor senior technicians, and support certification preparation for EPA Universal and CAMT.

    This is a high-impact role that strengthens service quality, improves response times, and builds confident, skilled maintenance teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    Training and Instruction

    • Teach hands-on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair skills in alignment with industry standards and safety requirements.
    • Lead classroom, virtual, and on-site technical training sessions to improve diagnostic accuracy and repair efficiency.
    • Deliver instruction in both English and Spanish to ensure full team alignment.

    Curriculum and SOP Development

    • Translate complex technical manuals into clear Standard Operating Procedures and quick-reference checklists for make-ready and routine service requests.
    • Develop training materials, learning modules, and skill-building exercises that support technician growth.

    Certification Support

    • Prepare technicians for industry credentials and serve as an internal proctor for EPA Universal and CAMT certifications.
    • Track certification progress, renewal timelines, and compliance requirements.

    Performance Coaching

    • Identify skill gaps across regional properties and provide targeted remediation to improve service response times and make-ready efficiency.
    • Mentor senior maintenance supervisors and lead technicians through a train-the-trainer model.

    Operational Alignment

    • Conduct needs assessments, set training goals, and establish success metrics.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with regional leaders and property teams.
    • Stay current on industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging maintenance technologies.
    • Complete administrative tasks related to learning and development.

    Required Qualifications

    • Five or more years of expert-level experience diagnosing and repairing 410A and R22 HVAC systems, electrical panels, and common appliances.
    • Ability to train others in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance operations.
    • EPA Type II or Universal certification.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    Preferred Experience

    • Prior experience mentoring field crews or delivering adult trade instruction.
    • Industry certifications such as CAMT, CPO, or trade school credentials in HVAC or electrical.
    • Experience with property management platforms such as Entrata or Entrata Facilities App.
    • Associate degree or trade certification in a relevant field.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand for extended periods during training sessions.
    • Ability to walk properties, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain.
    • Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
    • Ability to use standard office equipment and present materials in person and virtually.
    • Ability to maintain focus and adjust vision for computer work and technical demonstrations.

    Work Environment

    • Combination of home office, corporate office, and on-site apartment community locations.
    • Moderate noise levels in office and field environments.
    • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions during property visits.

    Travel Requirements

    • Approximately 30% travel to California and Texas.
    • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required.
    • Overnight travel may be required for training and business needs.
