Property & Casualty Insurance Customer Service Representative (CSR)

Location: Raleigh, NC (Fully In-Office)

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM


Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Property & Casualty Insurance Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our client's team in Raleigh, NC. This fully in-office role plays a critical part in supporting both clients and the insurance team by delivering exceptional service, managing policy needs, and ensuring a smooth client experience.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance products, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Support

  • Respond promptly to client inquiries regarding auto, home, renters, commercial property, and liability policies
  • Clearly explain coverage details, deductibles, limits, billing inquiries, and claims processes
  • Resolve customer questions and concerns professionally with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention

Policy Servicing

  • Process policy transactions including endorsements, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and rewrites
  • Review applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and required documentation for both new and existing business

Claims Assistance

  • Provide First Notice of Loss (FNOL) support and guide clients through the claims process
  • Communicate and coordinate with carriers and adjusters to ensure timely updates and resolution

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the agency management system
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, carrier guidelines, and internal policies
  • Handle sensitive client data with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality

Carrier & Team Collaboration

  • Work directly with insurance carriers to address underwriting questions, policy clarifications, and service issues
  • Support producers/agents with administrative tasks and customer follow-up
  • Assist with renewal reviews, account rounding, and identifying cross-sell opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance License (North Carolina required) or strong desire to obtain!!
  • 1-3 years of experience in insurance or customer service (P&C strongly preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with agency management systems such as Applied Epic, Vertafore, or AMS360

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an independent agency environment
  • Experience handling both personal and small commercial lines
  • Familiarity with multiple carrier platforms

  • Standard office setting with regular interaction with clients, team members, and carrier partners
