    Property Accountant – Multifamily


    Growing Multifamily Real Estate Investment firm is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to manage accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of large multifamily properties. The ideal candidate has strong property-level accounting experience and is comfortable owning the month-end close process.


    Responsibilities:


    • Prepare monthly financial statements and complete month-end/year-end close.
    • Perform bank and balance-sheet reconciliations and prepare journal entries.
    • Review property income, expenses, accounts payable/receivable, tenant balances, and security deposits.
    • Analyze actual results versus budget and explain variances.
    • Maintain fixed assets and capital expenditure records.
    • Prepare owner, lender, audit, tax, and supporting financial reports.
    • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, acquisitions, dispositions, and accounting transitions.
    • Partner with property managers and senior management on accounting and financial reporting matters.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, loan requirements, and ownership agreements.


    Qualifications:


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
    • 2+ years of multifamily property accounting & general-ledger accounting experience..
    • Hands-on experience with the month-end close process.
    • Strong understanding of accrual accounting and property-level financial statements.
    • Strong Excel, reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with Entrata and/or Elise AI preferred.
    • Ability to manage multiple properties, deadlines, and competing priorities.
    • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
