    Description

    A highly respected Property Management organization is seeking a Property Accountant to join its growing team. This firm manages a diverse portfolio that includes retail, office, multifamily, and mixed-use properties and is known for its collaborative and friendly culture.     Property Accountant Responsibilities:
    - Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets,
     and cash flow statements for assigned properties
    - Month-end closebalance sheet reconciliations including Bank, AR, Construction in Progress & Fixed Assets
    - Journal entries including accruals & prepayments
    - Reconciliation of revenue accounts
    - Preparation of supporting work papers
    - Variance analysis including flux analysis and budget-to-actual review
    - Collaboration with property managers
    - Review all AR transactions and AP invoices
    - Review lease agreements and ensure accurate and timely recording of rental income
    - Review and reconcile all loan payments
    - Prepare and submit required financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders
    - Assist with year-end audit preparations and provide necessary documentation and support to auditors
    - Special projects

    Property Accountant Requirements:
    - Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
    - 4-6 years of progressive General Ledger experience
    - Experience compiling accrual based financial statements
    - Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
    - Real estate industry experience a plus but not essential
    - Systems savvy with strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
    - Yardi or MRI experience a plus but not essential
    - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
    - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
    - Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
