Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated
Property Accountant. This role will play a key part in supporting the financial operations of a portfolio of properties and ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in property accounting and experience working with Yardi or similar ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Conduct bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and compliance
- Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis
- Assist with budget preparation and forecasting
- Review and perform lease abstraction
- Help resolve accounts payable discrepancies in a timely manner
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and reporting compliance
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- 3+ years of property accounting experience
- Experience with Yardi strongly preferred
- Experience with MRI, Rent Manager, or similar ERP systems will also be considered
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
