This position offers the opportunity to work closely with property operations, asset management, and finance teams while contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.Job Description Our client is seeking a detail-oriented accountant with strong reconciliation and financial reporting experience. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate property-level financial records, supporting month-end close activities, assisting with audits, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sound accounting practices.Key Responsibilities Analyze and review monthly bank account reconciliations, researching and resolving outstanding transactions as needed.Monitor property-related cash activity, including operating, reserve, and other designated accounts, while ensuring all financial activity is accurately recorded.Prepare and post journal entries to maintain complete and accurate accounting records.Evaluate monthly financial results and investigate material variances compared to budgets, forecasts, and historical trends.Partner with operational and financial teams to identify and explain fluctuations in revenue and expenses.Calculate and record accruals to ensure expenses are recognized in the appropriate accounting periods.Maintain detailed schedules supporting prepaid expenses, property taxes, and other balance sheet accounts.Assist with balance sheet account analysis and ensure account reconciliations are completed timely and accurately.Provide requested financial documentation and support during annual audits and tax preparation activities.Collaborate with accounting leadership to strengthen financial controls and maintain reporting accuracy across the portfolio.Participate in process improvement initiatives designed to enhance accounting efficiency and reporting quality.Complete special projects and other accounting-related assignments as needed.Maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate, property management, or a multi-entity environment.Strong understanding of accrual accounting, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement analysis.Experience preparing reconciliations and supporting month-end close processes.Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys financial analysis, reconciliations, and working cross-functionally to support business operations.
