    Summary:

    DMC is currently looking for a Project Technician/Surveyor, to join our team on a full-time contract basis, based in Tucson, AZ. The Project Technician/ Surveyor is responsible for the coordination and delivery of technical services required for the Project. This includes a functional support role to the construction / operations team on the Project. The Project Technician/ Surveyor will ensure that engineering scope (drawings), specifications, bill of materials, quality control and general engineering coordination are available when required, to complete all aspects of the project on time, to a high quality and within budget. Fulfilling survey requirements, including primary control management, setting out, development support, and equipment management.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the construction / operational team for surface and underground work. This includes oversight of the engineering design progression, overseeing survey requirements on site, ensuring the items are on site when required and that the teams are aligned with any quality control required during the construction phase.
    • Interface with mining crews and supervision to ensure all metrics are captured and are correct.
    • Work closely with the Project Manager / Project Superintendent to ensure all requirements to execute the work are available and supported in a timely manner.
    • Recommend design or method improvements in a continuous effort to improve safety and productivity. This is complete via engineering interface meetings and in the reviewal of drawings.
    • Maintain, at site, a complete set of standards, specifications, and drawings to ensure designs and works are completed in line with industry and Project specific standards / regulations.
    • Provide support in writing procedures and the coordination with operational / construction team on safe and high-quality methodologies.
    • Provide support during construction / operations with technical issues and involvement of developing efficient and safe working procedures.
    • Provide support during quality and commissioning phases of the package. This includes managing quality packages and creating documents. Documentation must be completed by the required stakeholders.
    • Collect and submit data from shifts; interface with mining crews, supervisors, to ensure that all metrics are captured correctly and are reflective of the shift.
    • Measure, record, and report mining advance on a shift-by-shift basis.
    • Provide input to weekly and monthly reports (as required), and review reports and interpretation of survey data results.
    • Monitor underground environments, to include, but not limited to, ventilation readings, concrete monitoring, and any witnessed convergence.
    • Line and grade setting out, including setting out new construction scopes.
    • Involvement in active quality management; concrete pre-pour inspections, verticality surveys, as built surveys built.
    • Other related duties as may be assigned.

    Experience:

    • Experience working in the mining industry in a survey/ technician role.
    • On-site experience in a construction / operational execution-based role.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including client / contractor management and interface.
    • Surveying experience.
    • Experience in schedule and budget oversight.
    • Demonstrated understanding of design engineering codes, technical standards and regulations relating to the mining sector.
    • (Desirable) Experience in EPC project.

    Skills

    • Ability to work closely with the site engineering team and interface with the Project Manager.
    • Ability to work as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to function with minimal supervision; self-derived work and development.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
    • Ability to produce detailed reports covering inspection findings.
    • (Desirable) AutoCAD skills, Leica Cyclone skills, and experience with drawing generation.
