    Description

    Job Title: Project Scheduler
    Location: Spartanburg, SC
    Type: Direct Hire
    Work Model: Onsite – onsite

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for machinery moves, equipment installations, and plant relocations.
    • Schedule internal field crews (millwrights, riggers, electricians, crane crews, etc.) based on skillsets, availability, certifications, and travel requirements.
    • Coordinate manpower levels to meet project milestones while minimizing downtime, overtime, and conflicts.
    • Adjust schedules in real time to accommodate weather delays, site conditions, equipment availability, or client-driven changes.
    • Schedule cranes, forklifts, gantries, transport vehicles, and specialized rigging equipment.
    • Coordinate with logistics providers for trucking, shipping, and delivery timelines.
    • Ensure permits, escorts, and access requirements are aligned with move schedules.
    • Act as a primary liaison between Operations, Project Management, Safety, and Field Supervisors.
    • Communicate daily and weekly schedules to internal teams and external partners.
    • Provide schedule updates, change notifications, and look-ahead plans to stakeholders.
    • Track schedule adherence and report variances or risks to Operations and Project Managers.
    • Support project planning meetings, pre-job meetings, and post-project reviews.
    • Maintain accurate scheduling records and documentation within company systems.
    • Ensure scheduling aligns with site safety requirements, working hour restrictions, union rules (if applicable), and regulatory standards.
    • Confirm required certifications, training, and safety documentation are current before assigning personnel.


    Requirements

    • 3+ years of scheduling, dispatching, or project coordination experience in industrial construction, heavy machinery moving, manufacturing, or plant relocation environments.
    • Strong understanding of industrial trades (millwrights, rigging, cranes, electrical, mechanical).
    • Experience coordinating labor, equipment, and logistics simultaneously.
    • Proficiency with scheduling tools, spreadsheets, and ERP/project management systems.
    • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to remain calm, flexible, and decisive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
    • Strong communication skills with both field and office personnel.
    • Experience in factory relocations, machinery installation, or industrial services.
    • Familiarity with union environments, prevailing wage, or multi-state operations.
    • Knowledge of safety requirements related to cranes, rigging, and heavy equipment.
    • Ability to read project plans, schedules, and scope documents.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities.
    • Must be willing and able to travel to job sites when needed.
