Project Safety Manager (Data Center Construction)
Position Overview
Our client is expanding its national data center footprint and is seeking a dynamic
Project Safety Manager to lead Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives in fast-paced, high-profile construction environments. This is a critical onsite leadership role responsible for driving all EHS operations, fostering a proactive safety culture, and ensuring every team member returns home safely each day.
As part of a mobile project workforce, the selected candidate will train at the organization's headquarters before deploying to major data center construction projects across the United States to elevate safety performance, mentor teams, and uphold best-in-class safety standards.

Position Details
- Exempt salary position based on experience and qualifications
- Contract opportunity with potential for extension or conversion to permanent employment
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3: 30 PM –12: 00 AM (2nd Shift)
- Location: Onsite daily at a project site in New Albany, Ohio
- Supervisory Responsibility: Project-assigned EHS staff
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership & Compliance
- Partner with site leadership to drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the onsite authority for EHS activities, including inspections, audits, site walks, toolbox talks, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Maintain a visible field presence and lead by example in promoting safe work practices.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop EHS Specialists and Safety Coordinators.
- Delegate responsibilities, manage schedules, and support professional growth within the safety team.
- Conduct onboarding, training, and ongoing safety coaching for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
Incident Prevention & Response
- Lead incident investigations and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing risk and enhancing safety performance.
EHS Operations & Reporting
- Serve as a key liaison between corporate EHS leadership, project teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.
- Manage EHS documentation, SDS inventories, safety metrics, and reporting requirements.
- Review and improve EHS procedures, forms, and processes to ensure alignment with organizational standards.
National Project Support
- Travel to various data center construction projects throughout the United States.
- Provide consistent leadership and safety oversight to support the growth and success of a nationwide construction safety program.

Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience within the construction industry.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- One or more professional safety certifications such as:
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
- ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
- STSC (Safety Trained Supervisor Construction)
- CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
- IOSH or equivalent
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 certifications.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Extensive experience with inspections, incident investigations, contractor safety, process safety, and safety training programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and digital reporting platforms.
- Ability and willingness to travel nationwide in support of large-scale data center construction projects.
