Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary design firm, is seeking a Project / Retail Business Unit Leader who will drive business development initiatives, expand client and industry relationships, and lead retail projects as Architect of Record, Project Manager, or Principal-in-Charge.

Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary design firm, is seeking a Project / Retail Business Unit Leader who will drive business development initiatives, expand client and industry relationships, and lead retail projects as Architect of Record, Project Manager, or Principal-in-Charge. The ideal candidate is a licensed architect with 15+ years of experience delivering complex retail developments, a strong industry network in the Pacific Northwest and/or California, proven business development expertise, and exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. This full-time position is located in Sacramento, CA.

Pay rate:  $120,000 to $160,000

Benefits:

• Paid Time Off: 18 days PTO per year (up to 25.5 days); accrual starts first week.
• Holidays: Standard paid holidays plus two “Floater” holidays.
• Insurance Coverage: Employer-paid health, vision, dental, prescription, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance; dependent coverage available pre-tax.
• Benefit Options: PPO or High Deductible Plan with HSA, Dental (Delta Dental), Life Insurance (1× salary up to $100,000), Supplemental Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts for health and dependent care.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee the implementation of a business development strategy for retail projects across markets in which the company works.
• Maintain, build, and expand relationships with Clients, contractors, brokers, consultants, and other partners in the industry related to retail projects.
• Lead and serve as AOR on specific retail projects as a Project Manager or Principal-in-Charge, commensurate with level of experience.

Requirements:

• Licensed Architect with 15 to 25 years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience executing interdisciplinary projects in the retail market, including, but not limited to, ground-up retail centers, renovation/reposition of existing centers, and tenant improvement work.
• Established reputation in the real estate industry related to retail projects, including strong relationships with developers, brokers, contractors, and other partners in Oregon, Washington, and/or California.
• Strong business development skills and willingness to cross-sell across disciplines and markets.
• Possess a high level of emotional intelligence.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Willingness to take initiative and possess a commitment to deliver results.
