IT Project/Program Manager IV

Location: Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL (Hybrid, with potential for increased onsite requirements)
Duration: 12-Month Contract with Possible Extension
Pay Rate: $63-$67/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Project/Program Manager IV to lead complex software and digital transformation initiatives within a large enterprise environment. This role will oversee cross-functional project teams responsible for delivering technology solutions that support business objectives and drive operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project and program management, Agile software development, stakeholder engagement, and leading geographically distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple IT projects from initiation through implementation and successful delivery.
• Develop and manage project charters, schedules, budgets, risk plans, status reporting, and stakeholder communications.
• Partner with business leaders, product managers, and software engineering teams to align project objectives and priorities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate Agile project execution and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive organizational alignment, change management activities, and decision-making processes.
• Track project progress using industry-standard project management tools and methodologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of project or program management experience.
• 6+ years managing software development or software engineering projects.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycles.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar project tracking tools.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP Certification.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
• Change Management Certification.
• Experience within large enterprise organizations.
• Experience supporting eCommerce or customer-facing digital platforms.
• Power BI experience.
• Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Additional Information

• Interview Process: Two virtual interview rounds.
• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, first shift.
• Some travel may be required (up to 25%).
• Candidates must be comfortable working in a hybrid environment and potentially transitioning to increased onsite presence in the future.
