    Description

    Role Description The Commercial Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lombard, IL, responsible for overseeing commercial construction projects from planning through completion. This role manages project schedules, budgets, and quality standards, coordinating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is executed according to plans, specifications, and safety requirements. The Commercial Construction Manager supervises on-site teams, conducts regular site inspections, and resolves construction issues to keep projects on track. Daily responsibilities include monitoring project progress, managing change orders, maintaining documentation and reports, enforcing safety protocols, and communicating status updates to stakeholders. The role also involves contributing to project bids, supporting procurement activities, and fostering collaborative relationships to deliver projects on time and within budget.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, performance oversight, and coordination of subcontractors and field personnel.
    • Proficiency in Budgeting and Project Control, including cost tracking, scheduling, change management, and reporting on project performance.
    • Strong foundation in Construction, with experience in commercial projects, understanding of building systems, and ability to interpret plans and specifications.
    • Knowledge of Construction Safety practices, OSHA regulations, and implementation of site-specific safety programs and compliance checks.
    • Experience managing multiple projects or phases simultaneously, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, design professionals, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
    • Ability to use construction management software and productivity tools for scheduling, documentation, and project tracking.
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • Prior experience as a Commercial Construction Manager, Project Manager, or Superintendent in commercial construction environments.
    • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CM, safety certifications) are beneficial.
