    Position Summary

    Unison Software is seeking a Project Manager to support the implementation, delivery, and ongoing operations of Unison's federal acquisition and contract lifecycle solutions for civilian, defense, and intelligence community customers.

    Project Managers at Unison sit within our Program Management Office (PMO) and Delivery Services organization and work directly with federal clients and cross-functional teams spanning functional consulting, technical development, testing, training, and operations and maintenance (O&M). The role is accountable for keeping delivery on schedule, on scope, and on budget while maintaining a trusted client relationship throughout the engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules, including dependencies, milestones, deliverable dates, and critical path analysis
    • Coordinate delivery activities and deliverables across functional, technical, testing, training, and operations teams
    • Track and manage project scope, tasks, risks, issues, decisions, and action items; escalate appropriately and drive items to closure
    • Lead or support client-facing activities, including recurring status meetings, working sessions, deliverable reviews, and executive reporting
    • Monitor project financials and support contract administration, including burn rate, level of effort, deliverable acceptance, invoicing inputs, modifications, and period of performance tracking
    • Partner with Program Managers, Delivery Services leadership, and product teams on staffing plans, resource forecasts, and delivery risk mitigation
    • Apply and reinforce PMO standards, tools, templates, and best practices across assigned projects
    • Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for improved delivery efficiency, expanded client adoption, and organic growth

    Qualifications

    Required Experience

    • Professional project management experience, with depth of experience commensurate with the level of the position
    • Experience delivering enterprise software, ERP, COTS, or large-scale system implementations
    • Experience working in structured delivery environments (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
    • Experience supporting federal government clients or federal contracts

    Federal Acquisition Domain Knowledge

    Familiarity with one or more of the following is required or strongly preferred, depending on level:

    • Federal acquisition and procurement lifecycle, from requirements and market research through award, administration, and closeout
    • Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency supplements, and related acquisition policy
    • Federal contract writing, contract lifecycle management, grants management, or acquisition planning systems
    • Working with contracting offices, 1102 contract specialists, program offices, and financial management organizations
    • Federal financial systems, funding structures, and appropriations concepts
    • Federal security, compliance, and authority to operate (ATO) processes as they affect delivery timelines

    Functional and Technical Exposure

    • Business process analysis, reengineering, and to-be process design
    • Requirements definition, documentation, and traceability
    • System configuration and configuration management
    • Software development lifecycle (SDLC), system integration, and data migration
    • Test coordination across system, integration, and user acceptance testing
    • User deployment, organizational change management, and training
    • Microsoft Project, Microsoft 365, and collaboration or ticketing tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow

    Core Skills and Abilities

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities
    • Clear, concise written and verbal communication, including with senior client stakeholders
    • Sound judgment in surfacing risk early and proposing practical solutions
    • Client-focused, detail-oriented, and effective working independently across functional and technical teams

    Education and Certifications

    • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in a related field
    • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, or other project management certification is a plus
