We are looking for a hands-on Project Manager - Quality Operations to oversee a major manufacturing account in the Troy, Missouri area, along with supplier locations within approximately a one-hour radius.
This is an opportunity for a strong operations leader who understands manufacturing environments, can build effective teams and is comfortable taking ownership of customer relationships, project performance and day-to-day operations.
What You'll Do
Oversee daily quality inspection and containment operations at the primary customer facility and nearby supplier locations.
Manage staffing, scheduling and resource allocation to ensure appropriate coverage across multiple shifts.
Lead, coach and develop Project Supervisors and quality inspection teams, setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships by responding promptly to concerns, resolving issues and communicating operational updates.
Monitor project performance, labour hours, staffing levels and operating costs to support efficiency and profitability.
Ensure inspection activities follow customer requirements, work instructions, quality standards and established procedures.
Coordinate containment activities and investigate quality concerns, supporting corrective actions and prevention of recurring issues.
Monitor project reporting, audits, documentation and performance metrics to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Adjust staffing and operational priorities as customer demands change.
Partner with Operations leadership to identify opportunities to improve productivity, service delivery and team performance.
Provide hands-on support at customer sites when needed, including during escalations or staffing challenges.
Schedule & Travel Requirements
Must be flexible to support operations across multiple shifts, including evenings, weekends and off-hours as required.
Must be able to travel to customer and supplier sites within approximately a one-hour radius of Troy, Missouri.
Overnight travel may be required, with applicable travel expenses covered.
Must be comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment and responding to changing operational needs.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in project management, operations management, manufacturing supervision or a similar leadership role.
Experience in automotive manufacturing, quality inspection, containment or supplier quality is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach employees and manage performance.
Strong understanding of staffing, labour utilization, resource planning and operational cost management.
Ability to manage customer expectations, resolve escalations and communicate professionally at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and locations while maintaining consistent service and quality standards.
Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
Valid driver's licence and ability to travel between customer locations as required.
