We’re hiring a Project Manager - Temporary Power Generation at our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.
The Project Manager oversees the full lifecycle of temporary power generation projects supporting mission-critical data centers, from pre-construction through demobilization. The ideal candidate has experience managing complex electrical infrastructure, leading multidisciplinary teams, and delivering under strict safety, uptime, and schedule requirements. This position requires close collaboration with customers, engineering, field operations, vendors, and subcontractors to deliver reliable solutions safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage multiple temporary power generation projects supporting hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center operations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Complete necessary permit requirements.
- Develop contract agreements for union and non-union labor as required.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, logistics, commissioning, and customer stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead project kickoff meetings, progress reviews, risk assessments, and post-project evaluations.
- Ensure timely mobilization and installation of generators, transformers, switchgear, load banks, fuel systems, distribution equipment, BESS systems and all associated infrastructure.
- Oversee project execution to ensure compliance with contract requirements, technical specifications, applicable codes, and customer standards.
- Monitor project costs, forecasts, change orders, and financial performance while identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize operational impacts and schedule delays.
- Coordinate outage planning, commissioning activities, load transfers, and system testing to support uninterrupted customer operations.
- Serve as the primary customer point of contact, providing regular updates on schedule, milestones, risks, and project status.
- Promote a strong culture of safety by ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and customer-specific safety requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process efficiencies and lessons learned across completed projects.

Skills & Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Excellent customer relationship management and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and change management.
- Experience with commissioning, startup, and operational support of temporary power systems.
- Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and other applicable electrical and safety standards.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills under schedule and operational pressure.
- Experience working with EPC contractors, utility providers, and data center operators
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management,
- Business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 4 years of project management experience in temporary power generation, electrical construction, critical facilities, power systems, industrial services, or related industries.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects with significant equipment, logistics, and field service coordination.
- Experience supporting mission-critical environments such as data centers, healthcare facilities, utilities, manufacturing plants, or industrial operations is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies and scheduling software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, including, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- PMP certification is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
- Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project sites (30%-50% travel) depending on workload.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
