Project Manager, Sustaining Engineering

T he Sustaining Engineering PM focuses on the existing product portfolio managing updates, maintenance, tooling changes, and system improvements for products already in market. Projects in this space are more defined in scope, shorter in duration, and more contained in complexity, making it an ideal environment to develop cross-functional alignment skills, learn company's product portfolio end-to-end, and build the foundation for a long-term career in technical project management.
The team is actively evolving this consolidation under a unified PMO is intentional, and the incoming PM will be part of building something. Candidates who are energized by structure-in-progress, not put off by it, will thrive here.

Key Responsibilities

• Own full project lifecycle management for Sustaining Engineering initiatives maintaining schedules, managing scope, tracking deliverables, and driving accountability across cross-functional teams
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans aligned with organizational priorities; assist with project charters outlining scope, goals, resources, budget, and timing
• Lead cross-functional core teams through project milestones, fostering collaboration and a clear sense of shared accountability
• Manage stakeholder communication at all levels, including preparing and presenting status readouts to directors and executive leadership
• Identify project risks early and develop proactive mitigation strategies to keep momentum intact
• Apply quality control measures to ensure projects meet standards, regulatory requirements, and scope expectations
• Conduct Lessons Learned reviews at key milestones and contribute to continuous improvement of PM practices and tools across the team
• Support the PMO's broader standardization efforts as the team builds and refines its processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline, and/or 5+ years of project management experience
• Demonstrated experience managing projects direct PM leadership preferred, but strong project support roles will be considered for candidates who can articulate their contribution clearly
• Ability to create and manage project timelines, schedules, and plans using MS Project or equivalent tools
• Experience preparing and presenting leadership readouts candidates should understand the difference between an executive-level status summary and a detailed core team update, and be comfortable delivering both
• Strong time management and sense of urgency this team moves, and the ability to balance multiple workstreams without losing traction is non-negotiable
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort in a manufacturing environment; ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Composure and adaptability when priorities shift or project conditions change

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP certification or equivalent project management credential
• Experience in a product development or engineering environment familiarity with how products move from concept through commercialization is a strong asset
• Background in or exposure to continuous improvement, ePMO, or operational excellence functions candidates who have supported cross-functional process projects bring transferable skills that map well to this role
• Demonstrated ability to quantify the business impact of project decisions for example, connecting schedule delays to financial cost to drive urgency and alignment across teams
• Track record of ramping quickly in new organizations or roles, especially across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
