Senior Structural Steel Project Manager – Data Center Fabrication
A well-established and growing structural steel fabricator is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee the fabrication and delivery of large-scale data center projects from award through closeout. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company with a strong backlog of work and play a key role in delivering some of the nation's most complex structural steel projects.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will oversee high-value structural steel fabrication projects while serving as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, and internal teams. You will collaborate closely with estimating, detailing, purchasing, production, and shipping teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage structural steel fabrication projects from contract award through final closeout.
Lead multiple large-scale projects, with the majority focused on data center construction.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
Coordinate with estimating, detailing, engineering, fabrication, purchasing, and shipping teams.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, and project stakeholders.
Review contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
Monitor project progress, fabrication schedules, procurement, logistics, and profitability.
Identify project risks and proactively resolve issues to maintain schedule and budget.
Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to customers and leadership.
Manage project documentation, billing support, forecasting, and final turnover.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience managing structural steel fabrication projects.
Proven success managing complex steel projects from award through completion.
Data center or mission-critical project experience highly preferred.
Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes, detailing, production scheduling, and project execution.
Ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Experience with project forecasting, cost control, change management, and scheduling.
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working for a structural steel fabricator.
Background managing steel packages for data centers, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, or other complex projects.
Familiarity with AISC standards and structural steel fabrication best practices.
Experience coordinating with Tekla detailers and fabrication teams.
Compensation & Benefits:
$125,000–$175,000 DOE
