    Project Manager II – Critical Infrastructure / Energy Systems

    Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, TX - Up to 40% Travel Required: TX, OK, AR

    Position Overview

    Strategic Direct Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager II for a permanent, full-time opportunity supporting critical infrastructure and energy systems projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth market.

    This position is responsible for managing multiple complex, high-value projects within the telecommunications, data center, broadband, industrial, and critical power infrastructure sectors. The Project Manager will provide oversight throughout all phases of each project, coordinating field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, materials, equipment, schedules, budgets, safety requirements, and customer expectations.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, telecommunications, DC power, critical infrastructure, or related technical services and experience managing multiple projects with a combined value exceeding $5 million.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage multiple projects from kickoff through completion and closeout, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules while tracking milestones, revenue, KPIs, costs, margins, and overall project performance.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle, including scope reviews, scheduling, progress updates, estimates, and project changes.
    • Coordinate and oversee field service personnel, subcontractors, vendors, contractors, materials, and equipment.
    • Ensure all work complies with customer requirements and established standards for safety, installation quality, cost, documentation, and timeliness.
    • Develop and review Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Scopes of Work (SOWs), maintenance procedures, project plans, and other technical documentation.
    • Prepare and distribute project kickoff and closeout documentation, including floor plans, schematics, drawings, specifications, and supporting project records.
    • Review CAD drawings, construction documents, schedules, and technical specifications related to project execution.
    • Collaborate with engineers, design professionals, subject matter experts, field leadership, and other project stakeholders.
    • Manage project change orders and communicate scope, schedule, and cost changes to customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Ensure accurate and timely project invoicing.
    • Track labor, time, materials, expenses, and project costs using approved reporting systems.
    • Lead project meetings, prepare supporting materials, document action items, and maintain clear communication between all parties.
    • Identify project risks and proactively resolve issues that could affect safety, quality, schedule, budget, or customer satisfaction.
    • Maintain strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional project work and future business.


    Qualifications:


    Education

    • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and technical training.


    Experience

    • 6–8 years of related construction, telecommunications, critical infrastructure, energy systems, DC power, or technical services experience.
    • 2–4 years of supervisory, project leadership, or project management experience.
    • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects, contractors, field personnel, budgets, and schedules.


    Required Skills

    • Strong understanding of construction/project management processes and specialty trade systems.
    • Knowledge of applicable codes and requirements related to specialty trade systems and their integration into overall facility/project plans.
    • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, CAD drawings, floor plans, schematics, and technical specifications.
    • Experience working with Gantt charts, Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio, and Microsoft Office.
    • Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, change orders, invoicing, documentation, and cost control.
    • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, field personnel, contractors, vendors, and management.
    • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
    • Strong commitment to safety, quality, professionalism, and customer service.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • PMP certification or currently working toward PMP certification.
    • Previous experience supporting data centers, telecommunications facilities, DC power systems, battery/backup power systems, broadband networks, or other mission-critical infrastructure.
    • Experience managing large-scale projects or project portfolios valued at $5M+.


    Position Details:

    This is a permanent, full-time position supporting long-term critical infrastructure and technical services operations. This is not a temporary project or short-term contract assignment.
