SAIC is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Project Manager/SCRUM Master to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career in Ashburn, VA.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting for multiple software development projects using Java and cloud technologies. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the delivery of projects and managing any dependencies with other project teams within the organization.
- Leading and managing a team of people in a hybrid work environment.
- Lead daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement sessions.
- Working knowledge of SELC and associated documentation (project plans, charters, business cases, requirements documents, test plans, status reports, etc.).
- In-depth experience delivering software applications using an Agile methodology (Scrum)
- Working closely with business and solution resources on defining, analyzing, and documenting requirements/user stories.
- Working with senior executives and clients to gather requirements. Interpret and translate the captured technical and functional requirements into technical documentation that can be used by both the project management team and the development teams to develop the end user software using Java technologies.
- Understanding of SQL databases - Oracle, Postgres.
- In-depth knowledge and prior experience implementing business processes, database concepts and software development that support mission essential priorities.
- Contribute to project scoping, including requirement assessment, best practices, application design and development, methodologies, and budget recommendations.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 8+ years of experience leading cross-functional delivery teams including user interface and full-stack developers, systems integrators/engineers, database engineers, business analysts, and automation/functional testing engineers/specialists in an Agile environment.
- Proven track record of working with multiple complex projects and facilitating multiple high-performing Agile teams.
- Working knowledge of: Microservice architecture, Cloud services, Java-based web applications using a modern frameworks such as SpringBoot, Angular or React, SQL databases.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence and MS Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and organizational skills are a requirement.
- Ability to adapt quickly, work in a challenging and fast-paced environment with a team, as well as individually is a must.
- Commitment to learning, ability to think creatively, and facilitate collaboration across teams.
- Skills and knowledge utilizing Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and the Atlassian suite of tools is a must.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification a plus.
- Prior experience as a developer or a data analyst is a plus for the job.
- Tech background
- Managing projects in a hybrid cloud environment.
Customer Requirements
- Clearance - Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation
- Citizenship - Must be a US Citizen
- Location - Hybrid with on-site (Ashburn, VA) visits 2 days per week and if a mission need. All candidates must be within the GWA/commutable area.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
