Project Manager

The Project Manager works closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to drive project execution, manage timelines, mitigate risks, and ensure successful project outcomes that support Versatile Mold and Design's operational and business objectives. The Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating new product launches, tooling projects, engineering changes, and customer-driven initiatives from concept through production.

This position serves as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality requirements. The Project Manager works closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to drive project execution, manage timelines, mitigate risks, and ensure successful project outcomes that support Versatile Mold and Design's operational and business objectives.

Versatile Mold and Design, Inc. (VMD) designs and builds molds and dies for numerous multi-national companies in a wide variety of industries. Versatile also acts as a product development partner with our customers by offering prototyping services, design support and part production. Since our inception, Versatile has been committed to improving the long-term competitive edge of our customers through innovative engineering. We are a full-service molding facility capable of providing support through all phases of the development process. We have extensive experience with both thermoset and thermoplastic materials. We design and build tooling for injection molding, compression molding, transfer molding, and metal stamping. Versatile also offers general machining, wire and sinker EDM services as well as tool maintenance, repair and refurbishment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

• Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously from quotation through production launch.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, action plans, and deliverables.
• Coordinate activities among Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address delays, risks, and resource constraints.
• Facilitate project meetings and communicate status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure project objectives, timelines, and customer requirements are clearly understood and achieved.

Customer & Program Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding project execution and launch activities.
• Coordinate customer communications regarding schedules, tooling status, sampling, PPAP submissions, and production readiness.
• Manage customer expectations while maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Support customer visits, project reviews, and launch meetings.

New Product Development & Launches

• Coordinate all activities associated with new tooling, product launches, engineering changes, and transfer projects.
• Ensure tooling schedules align with production requirements and customer commitments.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams on validation activities, first article inspections, capability studies, and PPAP submissions.
• Track launch readiness and escalate issues that may impact timing or quality.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify opportunities for process improvement and operatio
