    Description

Flowserve is seeking an experienced, hands-on On-Site Project Manager to lead aftermarket fulfillment operations at our high-volume Quick Response Repair Center (QRC) in Rancho Dominguez, CA.

In this role, you will be the operational anchor on the active shop floor, driving turnaround cycles for critical rotating machinery, heavy industrial pump teardowns, hydraulic rerates, and emergency overhauls. Serving key industrial clients across California’s energy, chemical, and power sectors, you will manage complex project lifecycles from initial teardown through final testing and dispatch.

If you thrive in high-impact, fast-paced industrial repair environments and bring strong cross-functional project management discipline to active shop operations, this role is for you.

    Key Responsibilities

On-Site Operations & Critical Path Management

    • Shop-Floor Project Ownership: Drive end-to-end execution for complex rotating equipment overhauls, mechanical upgrades, and emergency pump repairs directly on the active repair facility floor.

    • Schedule & WBS Governance: Translate Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) into detailed shop floor schedules; aggressively manage the critical path to meet demanding turnaround and plant outage deadlines.

    • Stage-Gate Execution: Lead project kickoffs and formal phase-gate reviews to align customer requirements with structured shop floor execution and quality standards.

    Stakeholder & Matrix Leadership

    • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner closely with the facility General Manager, shop mechanics, engineering, procurement, and sales teams to ensure on-time, on-budget order delivery.

    • Customer Communication Pivot: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for plant buyers, engineers, and sales reps during standard overhauls and emergency plant outages.

    Financial, Risk & Documentation Control

    • Commercial Rigor: Review contract terms, manage scope changes, track project budgets, and oversee milestone invoicing and cash collections.

    • Data-Driven Forecasting: Leverage ERP/MRP live data to monitor work-in-progress (WIP), issue accurate status reports, and proactively execute contingency plans.

    • Document Management: Maintain rigorous control over customer submittals, approval drawings, NDT records, and final inspection packages.

    Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

    • Experience: 5+ years of Project Management experience within a heavy industrial repair center, service facility, or machine shop environment.

    • Technical Expertise: Deep familiarity with industrial rotating equipment (e.g., centrifugal pumps, fluid systems, API standards, mechanical seals, and heavy machinery).

    • Order Fulfillment Background: 3+ years specifically focused on technical order fulfillment, service center operations, or outage/turnaround project execution.

    • Manufacturing Processes: Solid understanding of industrial repair processes, including casting/forging, welding, non-destructive testing (NDT), precision machining, and dynamic balancing.

    • Systems Proficiency: Advanced skill with Microsoft Project, Excel, and industrial business management tools (ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle).

    • Leadership & Resilience: Exceptional communication, calm under pressure, and a collaborative, solution-oriented approach when managing high-stakes customer timelines.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.

    • Prior experience in power generation, chemical processing, or oil & gas aftermarket services.
