Project Manager - Public Construction Experience - Manhattan

Our client is an established public works general contractor specializing in government, education, infrastructure, transportation, and municipal construction projects throughout the NYC metropolitan area. With long-standing relationships across public agencies and authorities, they have built a reputation for quality, safety, and on-time project delivery.

A successful Project Manager - Public Construction Experience - Manhattan:

  • Manage public construction projects from award through completion.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, procurement, and subcontractor performance.
  • Coordinate with agency representatives, consultants, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project financials, forecasts, billings, and contract compliance.
  • Lead client and project meetings while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to public agency requirements, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Support successful project closeout and turnover.

A successful Project Manager - Public Construction Experience - Manhattan:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
  • Proven experience managing public works construction projects.
  • Familiarity with SCA, DDC, DASNY, MTA, Port Authority, NYCHA, DEP, or similar agency projects.
  • Strong understanding of public contracts, procurement processes, and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders in highly regulated project environments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
