Title: Project Manager – New Product Development
Location: Bolingbrook, IL
Position Type: Full-Time Direct Hire
Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year + Quarterly Incentive Pay Program

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a technical product development background to take ownership of innovative new product initiatives from concept through production.  The role offers significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to influence product development, manufacturing readiness, cost, quality, timing, and overall project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multidisciplinary, global teams through the development and launch of new and innovative products.
  • Own project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, resources, and overall execution to ensure commitments are met.
  • Coordinate Product Realization Stage-Gate requirements and ensure projects progress successfully through each phase.
  • Identify, prioritize, and mitigate project risks while developing critical-path analyses to accelerate timelines, reduce costs, and address potential issues.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Product Management, Marketing, and Aftermarket Service.
  • Evaluate projects and processes for cost efficiency, reliability, quality, and overall business performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and key milestones to project teams, management, and stakeholders.
  • Analyze project data to support effective problem solving, solution development, and improved business results.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including processes, material requirements, test results, project activity, and applicable company standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in a technical product development environment.
  • Strong understanding of modern product development methodologies, including:
    • Lean Product Development
    • Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
    • Design for Assembly (DFA)
    • Design for Excellence (DFX)
    • Six Sigma / Lean
  • Experience with quality methodologies such as PPAP and SPC.
  • Strong organization, facilitation, conflict-resolution, and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and drive deliverables from concept through completion.
  • PMP certification would be a plus.
