Lead High-Impact Municipal Projects Across Chicagoland
Our client is a well-established, family-owned General Contractor that has been shaping communities throughout the Chicagoland area for more than 50 years. With an exceptional reputation for quality, integrity, and long-term client partnerships, they specialize in delivering complex public construction projects for municipalities, park districts, government agencies, public safety facilities, transportation authorities, and educational institutions. Their diverse portfolio includes renovations, additions, historic restorations, adaptive reuse, and ground-up construction, backed by a consistent pipeline of repeat public-sector clients. Due to continued growth in their municipal division, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead public construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Glimpse of your role:
- Oversee multiple municipal construction projects from preconstruction through project completion.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractor buyout, and procurement activities.
- Coordinate with municipal owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and public officials throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contract administration, and project documentation.
- Monitor project financial performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Partner with field leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public-sector clients to support repeat business opportunities.

The Successful Applicant:
- 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
- Proven experience delivering municipal or other public-sector construction projects.
- Strong understanding of public bidding procedures, contract administration, and project financial management.
- Experience working with municipalities, park districts, government agencies, or other public owners.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
