This role is intentionally designed to begin with approximately 6-9 months working in the field as a Superintendent, learning Waterton's systems, people, projects, and approach to construction before transitioning into a full Project Manager role.We're looking for someone with the experience, judgment, computer skills, and leadership ability to grow into full project management responsibility.What You'll DoDuring the initial field phase, you'll work closely with our field teams to learn how Waterton operates and build a strong understanding of our projects before taking on full PM responsibilities.Your responsibilities will include:Spend approximately 6-9 months working in the field as a Superintendent while learning Waterton's systems, processes, and project standardsLead and coordinate field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standardsBuild strong working relationships with crews, subcontractors, clients, vendors, and company leadershipDevelop a detailed understanding of project schedules, production, labor, materials, and field executionTransition into managing projects from project launch through completion as a Project ManagerManage project schedules, budgets, labor, production, documentation, and cost controlCoordinate with owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and vendorsReview, estimate, negotiate, and process change ordersMonitor project costs, billing projections, and overall financial performanceManage project information and documentation within CoConstructLead production and project meetings and communicate updates to company leadershipResolve field issues and make sound decisions to keep projects moving forwardSupport estimating and project buyout activities as appropriateIdentify opportunities to improve project execution, communication, and profitabilityWhat We're Looking For5+ years of construction project management or comparable construction leadership experienceExperience managing commercial, civil, sitework, hardscape, landscape construction, or other large outdoor construction projectsPrevious experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Superintendent, or similar construction leadership roleStrong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controlExperience with project buyouts or procurement is a plusStrong computer skills and the ability to work confidently with Excel, including understanding basic formulas and identifying when calculations or data do not appear correctExperience with construction management software such as CoConstruct or similar platformsStrong leadership and communication skills with field personnel and subcontractorsAbility to learn new systems and processes quicklyAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detailStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsWillingness to spend the initial 6-9 months primarily in the fieldValid driver's license with the ability to travel between project sitesSpanish language proficiency is preferred but not requiredThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is someone who already has the foundation to become a successful Project Manager but understands the value of learning the field from the inside before taking full responsibility for projects.You may be a current Project Manager looking for a new opportunity, an experienced Superintendent ready to step into project management, or a construction professional with strong field and project experience.You are comfortable working with people, technology, schedules, budgets, and project information.
