Project Manager – Managed IT ServicesDepartment: Operations Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Location: Cincinnati, OH / Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 base salary + performance-based bonusAbout MIS SolutionsMIS Solutions is a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) providing managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, backup and disaster recovery, communications, and strategic technology consulting to businesses and organizations throughout the region.We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and results-driven Project Manager to oversee client technology projects from kickoff through successful completion.This is a hands-on project management role for someone who is comfortable managing multiple projects, coordinating technical resources, maintaining timelines, communicating with clients, and holding people accountable to deadlines.Position SummaryThe Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, communicating, and driving the successful completion of client-facing IT projects.Projects may include:New client onboarding and technology transitionsNew solution implementations for existing clientsNetwork implementations and refreshesServer and infrastructure projectsMicrosoft 365 and cloud projectsCybersecurity implementationsOffice moves and new location setupsSchool technology implementations and school-year startsClient acquisitions and technology integrationsHardware refreshes and technology upgradesBackup and disaster recovery implementationsThe Project Manager will work closely with vCIOs, the Systems Administration Team Lead, Support Team Lead, CTO, technical teams, vendors, and clients to ensure projects are properly scoped, planned, communicated, documented, and completed on time.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & ManagementTake ownership of projects from initial planning through completion.Help establish realistic project timelines, scope, resource requirements, and client expectations before commitments are made to the customer.Perform initial scoping of new locations, particularly for clients moving offices or opening new locations.Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, tasks, and deadlines.Ensure all required information, documentation, equipment, licensing, credentials, and other dependencies are collected before work begins.Coordinate technical resources, vendors, and project dependencies.Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, and roadblocks.Follow up with team members, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure commitments and deadlines are met.Escalate resource or timeline issues when necessary.Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organization and attention to detail.Client & IT CommunicationOwn all project-related communication with the client's primary point of contact (POC).Provide proactive and timely project updates throughout the project.Coordinate project kickoff meetings and ensure scope, expectations, responsibilities, and timelines are clearly understood.Work with outgoing and incoming IT providers during client onboardings and offboardings.Collect required credentials, documentation, vendor information, network information, and other necessary information during transitions.Partner closely with the vCIO to address scope changes, client concerns, and additional project opportunities.Technical Team CoordinationWork closely with the Systems Administration and Support Team Leads to schedule and coordinate technical resources.Coordinate with the CTO when projects require specialized technical resources or oversight.Ensure technical team members understand project responsibilities, priorities, and deadlines.Monitor project hours and identify projects trending over estimated hours or scope.Help ensure project work is properly prioritized alongside support and managed services responsibilities.Documentation & Process ImprovementOwn all project documentation from project initiation through completion.Ensure project information, decisions, configurations, credentials, deliverables, and other required documentation are properly captured and stored.Identify opportunities to improve existing project processes.Develop and implement processes that improve project consistency, efficiency, communication, and accountability.Help establish and maintain standardized project management procedures.Project Completion & ReviewConfirm all project deliverables have been completed.Ensure documentation, tickets, and project tasks are completed.Coordinate final client acceptance and handoff to the vCIO and support teams.Lead project completion meetings with the CSO, vCIOs, COO, Team Leads, CTO, and appropriate support/technical team members.Review:What hurdles or roadblocks were encountered?Were timelines met? If not, why?What went well?What could have been done differently?What process improvements should be made for future projects?Document lessons learned and implement improvements where appropriate.Weekly Project ReviewThe Project Manager will participate in a weekly project review with the CSO, vCIOs, COO, Team Leads, and CTO to review:Project progress and upcoming milestonesProjects at risk or behind scheduleResource constraintsBudget/hour concernsClient or vendor issuesRequired leadership decisionsCompleted projectsThe Project Manager is expected to identify and address potential issues before they result in missed deadlines.Qualifications2+ years of project management experience; MSP, IT services, or technology experience strongly preferred.Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, hardware, and/or other technology solutions.Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable working with technical teams and non-technical clients.Ability to hold team members, vendors, and stakeholders accountable to deadlines.Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Experience with project management or PSA platforms preferred.Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.Project Management CertificationA project management certification is preferred, such as:PMPCAPMCertified ScrumMaster (CSM)Other recognized project management certificationCandidates without a certification may be considered based on relevant experience and may be expected to obtain certification within an agreed-upon timeframe.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is organized, proactive, persistent, and results-oriented.
