    PROJECT MANAGER
    WORK LOCATION: HYBRID LOS ANGELES, CA

    Position Summary:
    The Program Management Division of the Engineering Bureau seeks a candidate with proven experience in working on complex, multi phase, multi million-dollar design and construction projects. The candidate's primary responsibility will be to develop a plan that includes scope, budget, a prioritized schedule, and procurement method for implementing a portfolio of various projects. Then implement the plan, overseeing design, preparation of PS&E, procurement, construction and close-out.
    The candidate may also assist other Port Program Managers in their daily tasks of managing other Port capital projects.
    The candidate must also be able to demonstrate a professional demeanor, and have a clear understanding of project scope, budget, schedule, documentation, and quality control principles, and be able to multi task and work in a fast paced work environment.

    • Supporting EPD for Coastal Resiliency Plan Project - AECOM
    • Pier E Sewer Lift Stations 110 and 112 Modifications 
    • Maintenance Laydown Yard Relocation
    • Water Mains Transfer Assessment Study Support
    • Harbor Patrol Facility Relocation 
    Minimum Requirements:
    • 5 7 years working as a project manager lead, establishing and managing scope, budget and schedule, tracking performance, and participating in design, contractor bid and award, construction and closeout phases.
    • 5 7 years of direct project support on active design and construction projects.
    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, accounting or related field.
    Registration/Certifications:
    • Prefer Licensed Engineer and certified Project Management Professional, neither is mandatory though.
    Software Knowledge:
    • Proficiency using MS office suite software – Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Medium to advanced proficiency using MS Excel
    • Skilled experience in video conference software – e.g., Teams, Zoom
    • Proficiency with large scale cost reporting and/or project management software such as Unifier-Oracle
    Job Duties:
    • Support multiple program managers on multiple capital and expense projects.
    • Assist program managers in establishing and monitoring multiple project scopes, budgets and schedules.
    • Lead and perform all project management functions to implement capital and expense projects from start to finish.
    • Work with cross-functional team through all project phases to implement/deliver portfolio of projects.
    • Communicate and coordinate throughout all project phases with project stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service.
    • Obtain all required project permits and agency approvals.
    • Coordinate all 3rd party utility agreements, design, and construction
    • Prepare documents for and coordinate project Risk Analysis and Gateway approvals.
    • Prepare all Board memorandums for project funding, budget, bidding and contract approvals.
    • Review and approve invoices for services and contractor payments on projects.
    • Recommend budget adjustments and reallocate funds as needed for managing project costs including construction change orders.
    • Perform all project Document Management tasks using a standardized filing system as well as utilize adopted project management software (Unifier-Oracle) to prepare reports, manage project budget/funding and upload project documents as necessary
    • May assume other responsibilities as needed within scope of work of the on-call contract
