Senior Project Manager

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to serve as a strategic delivery leader across large, complex enterprise initiatives. This individual will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and executive leadership to drive cross-functional alignment, improve execution, and ensure successful delivery of high-impact programs.

The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing without direct authority, and balancing strategic planning with disciplined execution.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Strategic Initiatives

• Lead planning and delivery for large, enterprise-wide projects and programs.
• Develop execution strategies that align with business objectives.
• Coordinate multiple workstreams to achieve shared outcomes.
• Balance competing priorities while maintaining project momentum.

Drive Delivery Strategy

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Program leadership to define execution plans.
• Evaluate project strategies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
• Ensure initiatives remain aligned with business goals throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support prioritization, sequencing, and resource planning decisions.

Executive Stakeholder Management

• Build alignment across executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to leadership.
• Influence decision-making through clear communication, data, and thoughtful analysis.
• Facilitate consensus across teams with competing priorities.

Manage Complex Programs

• Successfully lead initiatives in fast-paced and evolving environments.
• Identify and mitigate cross-functional risks and dependencies.
• Coordinate work across multiple teams to ensure successful execution.
• Anticipate organizational impacts and proactively address potential delivery challenges.

Improve Delivery Excellence

• Mentor Project Managers and cross-functional teams on project management best practices.
• Enhance project governance, planning methodologies, and delivery standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and organizational delivery maturity.
• Support continuous improvement of project management frameworks and operating models.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of project or program management experience.
• Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional enterprise initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Proven ability to influence without direct authority.
• Excellent business acumen with the ability to align project execution to strategic objectives.
• Experience managing projects within Agile, hybrid, or traditional delivery methodologies.
• Comfortable partnering with engineering organizations and discussing technical concepts to support planning and decision-making (software development experience is not required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise software, digital transformation, or SaaS initiatives.
• Experience developing or improving project management methodologies, governance, or operating models.
• PMP or comparable project management certification.
• Experience mentoring or coaching Project Managers and delivery teams.
