Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a large-scale industrial construction project in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This is a long-term opportunity supporting complex construction and facility work within an EPC-style project environment.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing construction projects for a large EPC, general contractor, engineering/construction, or industrial construction organization. Direct experience supporting Oil & Gas, LNG, petrochemical, refinery, chemical processing, or similar heavy industrial facilities is strongly preferred.
This role requires a Project Manager who understands the full project lifecycle and can effectively coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, schedule, cost, safety, quality, and client expectations in a complex industrial environment.
Job Description:
- Provide overall project management and leadership for industrial construction and facility projects from planning/preconstruction through construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and client stakeholders throughout project execution.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, cost controls, quality, safety, risk, and overall project performance.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, forecasts, progress reporting, and recovery plans as needed.
- Participate in preconstruction activities including scope development, constructability reviews, estimating, bid packages, procurement planning, subcontractor evaluation, and buyout.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, according to specifications, on schedule, and within budget.
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.
- Identify project risks, constraints, and potential schedule or cost impacts and proactively develop solutions.
- Partner closely with field leadership, engineering teams, owners, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
- Maintain a strong commitment to site safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and project execution standards.
- Support commissioning, startup, turnover, punch-list completion, and project closeout activities as required.
Qualified candidates would have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Significant Project Management experience supporting large-scale industrial construction, EPC, or EPCM projects.
- Experience working for or alongside a major EPC, engineering/construction, or large industrial general contractor strongly preferred.
- Oil & Gas and/or LNG construction project experience highly preferred.
- Petrochemical, refinery, chemical processing, gas processing/compression, power generation, or other heavy industrial facility construction experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple phases of the project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, procurement, subcontractor management, change management, safety, QA/QC, and project documentation.
- Experience managing large capital projects and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and client-facing skills.
- PMP or other relevant project/construction management certification is a plus.
