Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead enterprise infrastructure initiatives within a large, global technology environment. This individual will oversee projects involving infrastructure upgrades, patching, hardware lifecycle management, virtualization, migrations, platform consolidation, and data center technologies.

The ideal candidate will combine strong project management experience with enough technical infrastructure knowledge to effectively partner with Data Center Operations, Network Engineering, Security, Architecture, and external technology vendors. This is a project leadership role rather than a hands-on engineering position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end IT infrastructure projects, including upgrades, patching, migrations, hardware refreshes, deployments, and decommissioning.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, resource plans, and implementation strategies.
• Coordinate activities across Data Center Operations, Network Engineering, Security, Architecture, and other technical teams.
• Manage infrastructure lifecycle projects from procurement and deployment through refresh and decommissioning.
• Support virtualization and platform consolidation initiatives involving technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V and Nutanix AHV.
• Coordinate storage, server, networking, backup, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Track project risks, dependencies, issues, changes, and remediation plans.
• Facilitate technical evaluations, proofs of concept, vendor assessments, and technology pilots.
• Partner with enterprise technology vendors such as HPE, Dell, Nutanix, NetApp, and Pure Storage.
• Review and coordinate vendor proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), licensing agreements, and project deliverables.
• Manage project documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, solution blueprints, implementation plans, and change-management documentation.
• Provide clear project status reporting and presentations to stakeholders and leadership.
• Manage project budgets and resources while ensuring projects meet timeline, cost, and quality objectives.
• Support enterprise change management, security, compliance, and infrastructure governance processes.

Qualifications

• 3 5+ years of IT project management experience, with demonstrated experience managing infrastructure, data center, virtualization, hardware lifecycle, migration, or related enterprise technology projects.
• Strong understanding of servers, virtualization, data centers, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Experience managing infrastructure upgrades, migrations, refreshes, or platform consolidation projects.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP concepts.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, VMware, or comparable platforms.
• General understanding of SAN, NAS, object storage, VLANs, subnets, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Experience working with enterprise IT vendors and reviewing SOWs, proposals, licensing, and implementation plans.
• Experience with ITSM and project management platforms such as ServiceNow and Jira.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting projects involving Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Experience within large-scale data center or global enterprise infrastructure environments.
• PMP, ITIL, Scrum, or related project management certification.
• Experience working with Nutanix, HPE, Dell, NetApp, Pure Storage, or similar enterprise infrastructure technologies.
