    Project Manager Infrastructure Deployment

    Project Duration: Approximately 240 hours
    Project Scope: Deployment of 120 Dell PowerEdge servers across 30 locations
    Environment: Georgia State / Dell APEX / AI Vendor

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate a multi-site infrastructure deployment involving the installation of approximately 120 Dell PowerEdge servers across 30 locations. This individual will be responsible for overall project coordination, scheduling, asset tracking, stakeholder communication, and ensuring deployment activities remain aligned with contractual and operational requirements.

    The ideal candidate will have experience managing IT infrastructure, hardware/server deployments, data center projects, or other multi-site technology implementations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the overall deployment of 120 Dell PowerEdge servers across approximately 30 sites.
    • Track and maintain accurate asset locations and records for all 120 servers.
    • Coordinate installation schedules between the AI vendor, Georgia State teams, Dell APEX, and other project stakeholders.
    • Manage project timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deployment progress.
    • Coordinate rack-and-stack activities and ensure each location is prepared for equipment installation.
    • Work with Georgia State Client Project Management, Security, Engineering & Construction Services, and other internal teams to confirm site readiness.
    • Validate rack space, power, connectivity, physical requirements, and installation schedules before deployment.
    • Coordinate remote configuration activities following physical installation.
    • Ensure deployment activities and physical asset locations remain aligned with asset-management records.
    • Coordinate with Dell APEX teams to ensure contractual accuracy when equipment or assets need to be relocated.
    • Identify deployment issues, scheduling conflicts, risks, or site-readiness concerns and drive them toward resolution.
    • Provide regular project status updates and maintain clear communication across technical and business stakeholders.
    • Ensure the project remains aligned with the agreed Scope of Services and operational requirements.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of Project Management experience, preferably within IT infrastructure or technology deployments.
    • Experience managing server, hardware, data center, network, or infrastructure deployment projects.
    • Strong experience coordinating projects across multiple physical locations.
    • Understanding of server installation and infrastructure concepts, including rack-and-stack, power, connectivity, and remote configuration.
    • Strong asset tracking, documentation, and organizational skills.
    • Experience coordinating multiple vendors, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage schedules, dependencies, risks, and competing priorities with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, particularly around asset records, schedules, and contractual requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Dell PowerEdge servers and/or Dell APEX environments.
    • Previous experience supporting government, state agency, or large enterprise infrastructure projects.
    • PMP, CAPM, or similar Project Management certification.
    • Experience with large-scale hardware refreshes, server deployments, or multi-site infrastructure rollouts.
