The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a ­­­­­­­­Project Manager - Integration (Part-Time) for a prominent client of ours.  This position is in Mettawa, IL 60045. Details for the position are as follows:

Project Manager – Integration

Location: Mettawa, IL – Hybrid
Schedule: Part-Time, approximately 20 hours/week; onsite Tuesday–Thursday
Contract: Through February 2027
Pay Rate: $92–$98/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide tactical project management support for an ongoing acquisition and integration initiative within a life sciences environment. This individual will partner with the strategic Program Manager, Bioinformatics leadership, and leaders across both organizations to coordinate integration activities, maintain project structure, and ensure key workstreams remain aligned and on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of project management experience, including exposure to mergers and acquisitions, business integration, or post-acquisition integration. Experience supporting life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, bioinformatics, data management, or data strategy initiatives is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project management support for an ongoing acquisition and integration initiative.
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders across both the acquiring organization and acquired company.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and lead project meetings and working-group sessions.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Track action items, decisions, dependencies, risks, and outstanding project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain risk registries and identify dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports and leadership updates.
  • Support financial forecasting and project budget tracking.
  • Organize and coordinate working groups focused on areas such as platform implementation, metadata management, and data storage.
  • Translate functional and technical input from working groups into actionable project plans and deliverables.
  • Establish effective communication structures across project teams and working groups.
  • Ensure action items are documented, assigned, monitored, and completed within established timelines.
  • Work closely with technical, scientific, business, and management stakeholders to maintain alignment throughout the integration.
  • Quickly integrate into an established project environment and provide structure and tactical execution support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5–7+ years of project management or program management experience.
  • Previous experience supporting M&A, acquisition integration, post-merger integration, business integration, or organizational integration projects strongly preferred.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or related regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects involving senior stakeholders and leadership.
  • Strong experience with project planning, meeting facilitation, action-item management, status reporting, risk management, dependency tracking, and financial forecasting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively between technical teams and business/management stakeholders.
  • Experience with life sciences data management, bioinformatics, scientific data, data strategy, or related technical environments preferred.
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet and Confluence highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting technology or platform integrations preferred.
  • Familiarity with Code Ocean or similar scientific computing/data platforms is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable joining an active project and quickly taking ownership of tactical project management activities.
  • Must be able to work approximately 20 hours per week and support the onsite hybrid schedule in Mettawa, IL.
