Hiring: Project Manager III

Lead large, complex IT projects for a government agency. Seeking an experienced PM who can run multi-vendor, multimillion-dollar initiatives from kickoff to close.

Location: Lansing, MI area (within 1 hour)Hybrid

What You'll Own

• Build project schedules, assign resources and manage budgets in a portfolio management tool (Clarity)
• Monitor and control cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality and risk

Keep sponsors, program managers, project teams and leadership informed with clear, timely updates

• Prepare presentations for audiences from executives to project teams
• Lead the technical and business teams to consensus and commitment
• Manage vendor contracts, deliverables and the approval process
• Run change management: enforce approvals on every change request and keep the benefits case and artifacts current
• Ensure the project follows the state's methodology through every lifecycle phase
• Coordinate interfaces with other agencies and oversee SaaS system integration

What You Bring

8+ years as a Project Manager

8+ years managing projects with budgets over $20M

8+ years managing IT projects in a large, complex enterprise

8+ years managing vendors and third-party solution providers

Experience in a multi-vendor government environment

Experience delivering IT projects built on COTS technology

Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management

Strong Plus

• PMP or another PM certification
• Experience with Clarity or similar portfolio management tools
• Prior state government or public sector experience
