Pay:$68.00 - $78.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
Description:
We are seeking a Project Manager II to support the planning and execution of capital, maintenance, and improvement projects at power generation facilities. The Project Manager II will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through closeout, coordinating with station personnel, engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely project delivery.
This role requires strong project management experience in an industrial, utility, power generation, or heavy construction environment. The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects simultaneously while supporting station operations and long-term asset reliability goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage assigned capital, maintenance, and infrastructure projects from concept through project closeout.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Coordinate with station leadership, engineering teams, maintenance personnel, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project execution.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify and mitigate risks, issues, and schedule impacts.
- Track project costs and forecast expenditures to ensure adherence to approved budgets.
- Lead project meetings and provide routine status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Manage contractor activities, including planning, safety compliance, quality assurance, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety standards, environmental requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Support outage planning and execution activities associated with project work.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, schedules, and project controls.
- Facilitate procurement activities and coordinate material and equipment deliveries.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and reliability.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field OR
- High school diploma/GED with equivalent utility, industrial, construction, or project management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience managing industrial, utility, infrastructure, construction, or power generation projects.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contractor resources, and stakeholder communications.
- Strong understanding of project planning, execution, risk management, and project controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience supporting power generation, utility, or industrial facility projects.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification through PMI
- Experience managing projects within operating power plants, substations, or utility facilities.
- Familiarity with outage planning and execution.
- Knowledge of contract administration and contractor management.
- Experience with SAP, Maximo, Primavera P6, or similar project management systems.
- Understanding of utility industry safety and environmental compliance requirements.
Work Environment:- Primarily onsite at generation facilities.
- Projects may be assigned across multiple station locations based on business needs.
- Periodic travel between stations and project sites may be required.
- Occasional support during outages, turnarounds, or off-hours project activities may be necessary.
