Sterling Engineering is looking for a Project Manager II – Environmental to join a growing engineering consulting firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project manager who enjoys leading multidisciplinary engineering projects, managing client relationships, and mentoring project teams while overseeing projects from inception through completion.
Job Summary:
The Project Manager II is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle for small to mid-sized engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients and project teams while driving project execution, financial performance, and team development.
Job Duties:
Manage engineering projects from initiation through completion.
Assemble project teams and assign responsibilities based on technical expertise.
Define project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Monitor project costs and ensure projects remain within budget.
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Coordinate contract negotiations and support project financial management.
Lead project meetings with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Maintain project documentation, correspondence, and deliverables.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support future business opportunities.
Mentor junior staff on project management best practices.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Construction, Planning, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of project management experience within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
Strong understanding of engineering and design terminology, project financials, contract requirements, and consulting operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
Experience with engineering project management tools, software, and methodologies.
PMP certification (or equivalent Project Management certification) preferred.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
