Project Manager – Commercial Solar EPC

About the Opportunity
A well-established and growing commercial solar EPC firm in the Greater Cincinnati area is hiring an experienced Project Manager to own full-cycle solar installation projects. This is a high-accountability, high-visibility role sitting at the center of engineering, field operations, and client delivery — with real upside for the right candidate in a sector that continues to expand.
What You'll Do
- Own the full project lifecycle — from pre-construction planning through commissioning — ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery
- Review and approve project budgets before proposals are delivered to clients
- Draft, review, and execute AIA contracts with subcontractors
- Establish work plans and staffing structures for each project phase; coordinate recruitment and assignment of project personnel
- Serve as the primary client-facing liaison for your region, managing relationships with customers, subcontractors, government agencies, and internal stakeholders
- Direct and coordinate project personnel activities to maintain schedule and budget integrity
- Provide monthly Revenue/COGS forecasts aligned to project schedules
- Prepare and deliver project status reports for management, clients, and stakeholders
- Confer with project personnel to resolve technical issues and provide guidance
- Support or lead solar PV system design work if electrical engineering background is present
- Conduct on-site supervision as required; up to 25% travel expected
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field OR 3+ years of hands-on project management experience in construction or EPC environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships simultaneously across multiple projects
- Thorough understanding of construction contracts (AIA preferred), engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Project, and/or Smartsheet; experience with ERP systems (Sage preferred)
- Comfort working with high-voltage AC and DC electrical systems
- Physical ability to traverse job sites, work on ladders and man-lifts, and lift up to 50 lbs
- PMP certification preferred; NABCEP certification a significant plus
- Solar PV system experience (design, installation, or maintenance) strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; high emotional intelligence and client-service orientation
- Proven track record of problem-solving under pressure with a high degree of self-accountability
