Our client, a Financial company, is looking for a Project Manager II - IT for their Jersey City, NJ/Hybrid location.

Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives across our Oracle Cloud platform footprint — spanning Oracle ERP, HCM, EPM, and FAW (Fusion Analytics Warehouse).
  • This role sits at the center of a multi-team ecosystem, working closely with internal technical/functional teams, stakeholders as well as external staff augmentation partners.
  • The ideal candidate is a strong IT project manager who also brings hands-on experience managing Oracle ERP/HCM implementation and enhancement projects — someone comfortable balancing multiple workstreams, vendor resources, and internal stakeholder priorities against a shared roadmap.
Project Execution and Delivery
  • Own end-to-end project management for multiple concurrent workstreams across Oracle Cloud Applications — including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and status reporting.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and work breakdown structures (WBS) for each initiative, ensuring clear task ownership, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Build and manage resource allocation plans across internal team members and external staff augmentation resources, balancing capacity against roadmap priorities.
  • Track project progress against plan using standard PM tools and provide regular status reports (schedule variance, burn rate, milestone tracking, status dashboards etc.).
  • Maintain and actively manage risk and issue registers (RAID logs), driving mitigation plans and escalating proactively where needed.
  • Lead change control processes, assessing scope changes for impact to timeline, budget, and resourcing before approval.
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Serve as the primary coordination point across multiple internal delivery teams to align priorities, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
  • Partner and coordinate with Finance and HR business process owners to facilitate requirement gathering, validate design decisions, and ensure solutions align with business process needs.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders from business units across Client whose processes or data intersect with the Oracle ERP/HCM/EPM/FAW platform, ensuring cross-functional alignment and minimal disruption to their operations.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating business requirements into structured project plans and technical teams' progress into business-friendly updates.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with stakeholders at varying levels, from working teams to executive sponsors, tailoring format and detail appropriately.
  • Manage and optimize the use of external staff augmentation resource pool, ensuring the right skills are allocated to the right initiatives at the right time.
  • Support annual and quarterly roadmap planning, providing input on sequencing, capacity, and resourcing trade-offs across business and IT stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Business Administration, or other related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as an IT Project Manager, managing multiple concurrent Oracle Cloud Application projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving Oracle ERP and/or Oracle HCM (implementation, enhancement, and support).
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining core PM artifacts including project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), resource allocation plans, status/tracking reports, and risk/issue (RAID) logs.
  • Strong command of core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, risk/issue management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Proven experience coordinating with business process owners (e.g., Finance, HR) to gather requirements and validate that technical delivery meets business needs.
  • Experience working across multiple business units or functional stakeholder groups within a large or matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and external vendor/staff augmentation resources.
  • Experience working within structured governance frameworks (steering committees, status reporting, change control boards).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for both technical teams and executive audiences.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and coordinating across multiple internal stakeholder groups with competing priorities.
  • Experience managing Oracle EPM and Oracle FAW projects.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience managing engagements involving external staff augmentation or managed services partners.
  • Familiarity with Agile/hybrid delivery methodologies within an enterprise IT environment.
  • Prior experience supporting a shared multi-year platform roadmap across finance, HR, and analytics domains.
  • Multiple Oracle platform projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with clear stakeholder alignment.
  • Project plans, WBS, and tracking artifacts are consistently up to date and used to drive decision-making.
  • Finance, HR, and other business unit stakeholders feel heard, informed, and confident in how the platform team is delivering against their needs.
  • Internal teams and external staff augmentation resources operate as a cohesive, well-coordinated extended team.
  • Roadmap priorities are executed with strong traceability, minimal rework, and proactive risk management.
  • Executive stakeholders have consistent visibility into progress, risks, and upcoming decisions.
