    Project Manager I – Transmission Projects

    Location: Plainfield, IN
    Work Model: Hybrid – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday onsite; Monday & Friday remote
    Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a Project Manager I to support Transmission Project Management, Development, and Estimating teams in Plainfield, Indiana.

    This role will help keep transmission projects organized and moving forward by supporting project tracking, coordination, forecasting, reporting, documentation, and data management. The Project Manager I will work closely with project stakeholders and portfolio management to maintain accurate project information, track deliverables and action items, coordinate estimates and schedules, and support emerging and developing projects.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong project coordination and organizational skills with advanced Excel, SharePoint, and reporting capabilities. Previous technical experience within utilities, electric transmission, or a related environment is highly beneficial.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Development & Coordination

    • Support Transmission Project Management, Development, and Estimating organizations with project throughput activities.
    • Track project status, milestones, action items, forecasts, metrics, trends, and variances.
    • Coordinate development meetings, including preparing agendas, taking meeting notes, distributing summaries, and maintaining action-item trackers.
    • Assist with Transmission project development, program development, and emergent projects.
    • Coordinate with project stakeholders to keep information accurate and deliverables moving forward.
    • Interface with the Portfolio Manager to support data coordination and the movement of project cash flows.

    Project Tracking & Data Management

    • Maintain Development and GLT project trackers using Excel and SharePoint.
    • Add new projects and update project status throughout the development lifecycle.
    • Move projects to appropriate handoff or cancelled tracking categories.
    • Verify project information, including sponsorship, funding, and other required data.
    • Add or remove individual poles from GLT project tracking based on stakeholder information.
    • Support project creation activities and DPN generation using internal project systems.
    • Utilize internal risk and project creation systems, including SWORD and PCT.

    SharePoint, Reporting & Automation

    • Maintain departmental SharePoint sites.
    • Manage SharePoint access and permissions.
    • Develop and maintain SharePoint workflows and site automation.
    • Maintain departmental Power BI reports and dashboards and confidently navigate existing reporting.
    • Support project metric reporting, trend analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting.
    • Utilize advanced Excel functionality, including macros and PivotTables, to organize and analyze project information.
    • Power Automate and Power BI development experience are highly desirable.

    Economic Development Support

    • Track incoming economic development requests.
    • Coordinate the delivery of project estimates and schedules.
    • Gather information from stakeholders and prepare concise one-page project proposals.

    Required Qualifications

    • Associate degree required.
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including:
      • Macros
      • PivotTables
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
    • Hands-on experience with SharePoint, including maintaining sites and managing information.
    • Ability to maintain and navigate existing Power BI reports and dashboards.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, requests, action items, and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to coordinate information across multiple stakeholders and maintain accurate project data.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Previous experience within electric utilities, transmission, power delivery, engineering, construction, or another technical project environment.
    • Experience supporting Transmission project development, estimating, project management, or portfolio management.
    • Experience with Power Automate.
    • Experience developing or enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports.
    • Experience creating SharePoint workflows or automating SharePoint processes.
    • Familiarity with project forecasting, cash-flow coordination, trend analysis, variance reporting, and project metrics.

    Ideal Candidate

    The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with technical and project teams, and strong with data and reporting tools. They do not necessarily need to be a senior Project Manager; someone with a background in project coordination, project controls, transmission/utility project support, PMO support, or project analysis could align very well.

    They should be comfortable owning trackers and follow-ups, working across Excel and SharePoint, coordinating information from multiple stakeholders, and making sure project data stays accurate and moves to the right people at the right time.
