Title: Project Manager I Location: Remote Type: Contract
We are seeking a highly organized healthcare IT Project Manager I who is experienced in supporting the management of Information Technology projects, project scheduling, and project documentation to work alongside the Epic Program manager and Epic Project managers on a large multimillion-dollar IT program.
This role requires strong administrative and organizational skills to support the Senior Project Manager and the technical team with documentation, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint presentation creation, and more. This role will work with complex technical programs such as Cloud Migration projects.
Key Accountabilities:
Support development of senior governance meeting documents and presentations.
Support the Program Manager and project managers in their duties such as project and program oversight, strategic planning, decision-making and financial budget updates.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Prepare written documentation in support of planned projects.
Develop and monitor project budgets and work plans.
Prepare Project Status Reports.
Collaborate with Project Coordinators and Analysts.
Demonstrate proficiency in project management methodology and practices.
Manage projects of small to average complexity and risk.
Exhibit advanced skills in the use of project management productivity tools such as MS Project and Excel.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge in creating detailed documentation, including project charters, work plans and budgets.
Communicate effectively with project staff and stakeholders.
Required Skills:
Experience with Epic or similar system preferred.
A bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare IT, or related field preferred but not required.
Two+ years of experience in IT project management with progressive responsibilities as a project coordinator up to project manager.
PMP certification preferred but not required.
Experience with any of these projects is helpful: IT modernization initiatives, Epic, InfoSec, end-user devices, Windows 11, and Windows Hello for Business biometric authentication, Citrix, and VMware, business or clinical applications.
Prior hospital or clinical experience highly desired.
Prior experience in other areas of IS are a plus but not required; (Help Desk, Network Engineering, Database, Service Administration, etc.).
Ideal candidate will be comfortable managing several work streams simultaneously.
Experience in and comfortable working independently with little oversight.
Ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be well experienced in conducting project meetings, issuing status reports, and any other communications as required.
