Job Title: Project Manager

Job Description

This Project Manager role oversees multiple complex projects from initial kickoff through final customer acceptance within a manufacturing and product development environment. You lead end-to-end project execution across planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, integration, testing, and delivery, while owning project scope, schedule, cost, and overall performance. You serve as the primary customer-facing contact, ensuring strong communication, alignment with technical and contractual requirements, and high levels of customer satisfaction. This position focuses heavily on switchgear and building-related product lines and plays a key role in supporting a rapidly growing data center supplier operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously from initial kickoff through final customer acceptance.
  • Lead end-to-end project execution including planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, integration, testing, and delivery.
  • Own and manage project scope, schedule, cost, and overall performance to meet business and customer objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining strong communication and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to align internal execution with customer requirements and project goals.
  • Lead internal and customer kickoff meetings and drive ongoing project status updates and review sessions.
  • Communicate technical and contractual requirements clearly to internal teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Allocate resources effectively and prioritize project activities to meet deadlines and milestones.
  • Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure they meet defined scope, quality standards, and deliverable timelines.
  • Monitor and report project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards, contractual terms, and internal company processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support invoicing activities, track payments, and manage project financials to maintain budget and margin targets.
  • Approve shipments and verify that all deliverables meet customer expectations and contractual obligations.
  • Drive project closeout activities, including final documentation and securing formal customer acceptance.
  • Work closely with production, procurement, engineering, quality, and other internal stakeholders on the shop floor to resolve issues and keep projects on track.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of project management experience, with full lifecycle responsibility including financials, schedule, client-facing activities, and production coordination.
  • Engineering experience in product development and manufacturing environments.
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, with a preference for Electrical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with switchgear projects.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication company, working with medium voltage, low voltage, e-houses, buildings, relays, and panels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end projects that involve design, manufacturing, and integration of electrical and control systems.
  • Strong understanding of product development life cycles within an engineering and manufacturing context.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and work effectively with production, procurement, engineering, quality, and customer-facing stakeholders.
  • Proven capability to manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure scope and deliverables are met.
  • Experience communicating technical and contractual requirements to diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Competence in tracking and managing project financials, including invoicing and payment tracking.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally Syteline, to support project planning, production coordination, and financial tracking.
  • Comfort managing projects that span planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, integration, testing, delivery, and closeout.
  • Experience in data center-related products or environments, particularly within switchgear and building product lines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growing organization that is expanding product lines and increasing production volume.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for leading customer meetings and internal project reviews.
  • Ability to work effectively on the shop floor, engaging directly with production teams and resolving day-to-day project issues.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic environment where priorities can shift due to customer needs and new product introductions.

Work Environment

This role operates in a Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility to accommodate working parents. You work as part of a project management team of approximately 24 professionals spread across five facilities, collaborating closely with colleagues in production, procurement, engineering, quality, and customer-facing functions. The position requires regular presence on the shop floor, engaging directly with manufacturing and fabrication activities, and staying close to the production process for switchgear, buildings, and related electrical products. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.

2 Weeks PTO 3-7% Annual increase based on performance of individual 3-5% Bonus based on company performance

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Houston,TX.
