    Project Manager – Utility-Scale Renewable Energy
    Contract Position | Agency Contractor
    Position Overview
    We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to provide hands-on support for the execution of large-scale renewable energy projects. This position will work alongside project leadership and cross-functional teams to coordinate schedules, deliverables, risks, issues, contractor activities, reporting, and overall project follow-through.

    The ideal candidate has experience managing or supporting major capital projects and is comfortable working with engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, finance, legal, HSE, vendors, and contractors. This is a contract opportunity designed to provide additional project-management support during active project execution.

    Location: Downtown Houston
    Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 days remote
    Travel: Occasional travel to project sites may be required
    Key Responsibilities
    • Support safe and efficient project execution by monitoring HSE-related actions, participating in contractor and project meetings, and escalating significant concerns when appropriate.
    • Coordinate daily project activities across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, HSE, Finance, Legal, Project Controls, Asset Management, utilities, consultants, and contractors.
    • Maintain project trackers covering actions, decisions, risks, issues, changes, deliverables, and key milestones, ensuring responsibilities and deadlines are clearly assigned.
    • Assist with project schedule management by reviewing contractor updates, monitoring critical-path activities, identifying potential delays, and helping coordinate recovery plans.
    • Support cost and forecast reviews by gathering financial and project inputs, monitoring commitments and trends, and identifying significant variances for project leadership.
    • Develop clear weekly and monthly status reports summarizing project progress, upcoming milestones, risks, decisions, and items requiring attention.
    • Coordinate EPC contractor and vendor activities, including deliverables, meetings, technical questions, notices, and follow-up items.
    • Assist with the administration and review of change orders, contractor claims, and related documentation by coordinating information from Commercial, Legal, Procurement, technical teams, and Project Controls.
    • Ensure project records are organized and current, including correspondence, meeting minutes, approvals, reports, and closeout documentation.
    • Provide project-management support for permitting, grid interconnection, commissioning, energization, commercial operation readiness, and final project turnover.
    • Help identify execution challenges and develop structured action plans to address outstanding issues.
    • Promote consistent follow-up and accountability across project stakeholders.
    • Document lessons learned and contribute to improving project-management processes, templates, reporting methods, and workflows.
    Required Qualifications
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
    • 10+ years of experience in project management, construction, engineering, project controls, contract administration, or a related field within energy, infrastructure, or major capital projects.
    • Experience supporting or managing complex projects involving multiple internal departments, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
    • Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost monitoring, risk and issue tracking, change management, contractor coordination, and project reporting.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize complex information, identify potential problems, and ensure timely resolution of action items.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commonly used project-management, reporting, document-control, and collaboration platforms.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage, transmission, substations, or other power-generation projects.
    • Familiarity with EPC agreements, change orders, contractor claims, notices, commissioning, energization, or project closeout.
    • Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Procore, SAP, Oracle, or similar project-management systems.
    • PMP certification or comparable project-management credential.
    Success in the Role
    The successful contractor will help bring organization, accountability, and visibility to project execution. Success will be reflected in accurate project reporting, effective stakeholder coordination, consistent tracking of schedules and risks, timely escalation of issues, well-maintained documentation, and strong follow-through on project commitments.

    This role provides project-management support and does not replace the authority of the designated project leadership. The contractor will not independently approve contracts, claims, budgets, settlements, or significant project changes unless specifically authorized.
