  • Build and maintain project schedules and lead regular owner and internal project meetings
  • Track job costs, forecast cost to complete, and report project financial performance to leadership
  • Write and manage subcontracts and purchase orders; coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
  • Identify, price, negotiate, and document change orders and extra work
  • Prepare monthly progress billings and manage retention and collections through closeout
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, permits, and project documentation
  • Partner with superintendents and foremen on production, safety, and field planning
  • Support estimating with constructability feedback and lessons learned

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a heavy civil contractor
  • Hands-on experience with grading, underground utilities, paving, and concrete scopes
  • Experience across both public and private work is strongly preferred, including an understanding of how the two differ in contracts, change management, communication, and pace
  • Heavy highway, public works, and site development backgrounds are all welcome
  • Strong command of job cost control, forecasting, scheduling, and change order management
  • Confident communicator with owners, design teams, inspectors, and field crews
  • Ability to be on a jobsite several days a week
  • Valid driver's license

Nice to Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • State DOT or public agency experience, including prevailing wage, certified payroll, and agency specifications
  • Familiarity with HCSS (HeavyJob/HeavyBid), Procore, Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, and construction ERP systems
