Project Manager
A specialized healthcare planning, design, and construction management firm is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead complex healthcare facility projects throughout California. This organization focuses exclusively on healthcare environments, providing end-to-end solutions that include planning, design, construction, inspection, licensing, operational readiness, and facility activation.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing Type I acute care hospital projects and a strong understanding of HCAI (formerly OSHPD) requirements, regulations, and construction processes.
What You'll Do
- Manage healthcare construction projects from planning and design through construction closeout
- Serve as the primary liaison between owners, architects, engineers, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
- Oversee budgets, schedules, procurement, contracts, and project reporting
- Ensure compliance with HCAI/OSHPD requirements and healthcare facility regulations
- Coordinate construction activities within active acute care hospital environments
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining schedule and budget objectives
- Support project teams through inspections, licensing, turnover, and operational readiness activities
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of project management experience in healthcare construction
- Experience managing Type I / Acute Care Hospital projects
- Strong knowledge of HCAI (OSHPD) regulations, inspections, and compliance
- Experience working in occupied healthcare facilities
- Ability to coordinate multiple project stakeholders and maintain strong client relationships
- Strong construction management, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
