Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Project Management OR BA/BS Degree in Engineering or Architecture OR Previously completed training in Facilities systems design and construction, operations and maintenance.

  • Expert level knowledge of a wide range of building types and systems; space management principles; safety requirements; environmental regulations, facility design, construction, grounds and facility maintenance.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
  • Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat
Duties:

The Project Manager will provide construction oversight and monitoring at the Hilo site and facilities operations and maintenance duties at the Field Station site. The project manager will coordinate facilities related activities between the two science centers, and the two regions that will be co-located in the Hilo facility.

  • Provide construction site field observation and inspections (Hilo Site). Communicate action items resulting from field observations to USGS architects. Document field conditions with photos and field notes. Witness 3rd party inspections, attend commissioning meetings (virtual and field) Monitor construction progress for contract compliance.   50%
  • Documentation of Site Visits and Field Observations with reports and photos.   10%
  • At the Volcano, HI site, engage with USGS/VSC and HVO leadership, external contractors and vendors, as needed to provide operations and maintenance at the new Field Station, collaborate with National Park Service to ensure water systems and IAA terms are in compliance.   40%
