Project Manager - Expert

Provide a short description of the Position: The agency operates a network of clinics, hospitals, and outpatient facilities. The candidate will be responsible for managing projects involving the update and/or implementation of new systems, software, hardware, and data management. A key focus will be leading the Re write of the existing ATA application convert to .NET and including scheduling mechanism, a high-priority initiative for OMH that demands strong project management leadership.

Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: Daily Tasks include but not limited to the following: Use project management tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Visio to share staff assignments, track project status and determine time estimates. Use project management methodology and documentation to manage the project, maintain project plans, and facilitate all required project and technical meetings including demonstrations of application development progress. Provide regular status reports detailing project metrics, progress, and mitigation strategies underway to address concerns. These reports are to be provided to the Department of Budget, OMH, and other inter-office agencies as requested. Partner with Business Analyst to ensure the business requirements are elicited from Business owners and key stakeholders. Ensure requirements are communicated, documented, addressed and if approved, included in future project plans. Coordinate the development of test plans and testing with the Project Technical Lead. Act as facilitator and primary project manager for multiple projects related to the OMH Business efforts; including projects related to implementation of applications or infrastructure changes. Report status of current tasks and outstanding issues to supervisor. Adhere to all NYS Project Management directives and processes.
