  • Pay Rate: $80.00 $95.00 / Hour (USD)

Job Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity within our Information Technology organization supporting supply chain and energy operations. We are seeking an expert-level Project Management Specialist to lead two concurrent technology initiatives focused on modernizing operational capabilities and improving distribution efficiency. This role will manage delivery across firm timelines and budget constraints while coordinating multiple business units, operational locations, product teams, enterprise platforms, and external partners. The successful candidate will bring strong execution discipline, leadership presence, and the ability to manage distinct but related initiatives in a matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business objectives and operational requirements into clear project scope, plans, milestones, success measures, and governance.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans using hybrid delivery methods across two concurrent initiatives.
  • Coordinate application, integration, data, infrastructure, security, testing, training, deployment, and operational-readiness workstreams.
  • Manage project resource demand, schedule dependencies, critical-path activities, and competing priorities.
  • Partner with supply chain, distribution, customer service, finance, operations, and IT stakeholders to align processes and delivery outcomes.
  • Lead implementation planning while minimizing disruption to day-to-day business activities.
  • Own project financial management, including forecasts, commitments, actuals, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Identify, track, escalate, and mitigate risks and issues, including cutover, data, integration, adoption, and operational continuity risks.
  • Define and publish concise, data-driven metrics, dashboards, and executive status reporting.
  • Coordinate organizational change, communications, documentation, training, and transition-to-support activities.
  • Ensure adherence to established enterprise delivery standards, governance, and applicable safety, security, architecture, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven success leading multiple concurrent, large-scale technology implementations in supply chain, distribution, energy, manufacturing, or other operational environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise applications, operational processes, integrations, data, and multi-location deployment.
  • Executive-ready project leadership, including financial management, dependency planning, risk resolution, effective communication skills, and transparent decision support.
  • Clear, concise communication with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decisions.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to anticipate milestones, risks, dependencies, and resource needs.
  • Sound judgment, executive presence, and a consistent focus on accountability and measurable outcomes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience delivering technology in energy, distribution, terminal, manufacturing, or warehouse operations.
  • Working knowledge of ERP-centric environments.
  • Experience managing delivery with third-party vendors, implementation partners, and system integrators.
  • Experience leading strong-matrix teams composed of employees and contractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes without direct authority in a decentralized organization.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous and evolving environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or similar delivery tools.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • PMI PMP certification (preferred).
  • Certified ScrumMaster or comparable Agile certification (preferred).

Required Experience

  • Proven track record of directly managing at least two large-scale supply chain, distribution, logistics, terminal, manufacturing, or operational technology implementations, including experience managing concurrent initiatives.
  • 10 years of experience in professional services consulting and/or IT program or project management delivering large, complex, multi-million-dollar technology initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, dependencies, risks, issues, change control, testing, training, and deployment from initiation through delivery.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed, multi-business-unit enterprise environment and coordinating teams of 10 or more resources.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions across complex application and integration landscapes, including infrastructure, information security, data, and enterprise architecture considerations.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Experience delivering technology in energy, distribution, terminal, manufacturing, or warehouse operations.
  • Working knowledge of ERP-centric environments.
