Description

The Data Center Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading all phases of data center construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
  • Managing the procurement process, including bid solicitation, subcontractor selection, contract negotiations, and vendor engagement.
  • Coordinating daily project activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Facilitating project meetings with clients, subcontractors, design teams, and key stakeholders to maintain alignment and drive project success.
  • Overseeing RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, and project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Partnering with design and engineering teams to resolve constructability challenges and technical issues.
  • Monitoring project budgets, forecasting costs, and proactively identifying and mitigating financial risks.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules while ensuring milestone achievement.
  • Coordinating equipment procurement, logistics, and material deliveries to support critical construction and commissioning activities.
  • Managing subcontractor and vendor performance to ensure compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Supporting commissioning efforts and ensuring seamless turnover of mission-critical systems to clients.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all project teams.
  • Maintaining clear communication with internal leadership and clients regarding project progress, risks, and key decisions.
  • Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Manage project staffing and resource allocation to support project milestones and operational goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Support project pursuits by providing input on budgets, schedules, logistics plans, and constructability reviews.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including punch list management, as-built documentation, and warranty turnover.
  • Drive accountability among project teams to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and financial targets are consistently achieved.
  • Coordinate mission-critical shutdowns, startup activities, and system integrations with minimal impact to operations.
  • Evaluate subcontractor performance and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Ensure proper document control and maintain accurate project records throughout all phases of construction.
  • Assist with workforce planning and mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings while preserving project quality and performance requirements.
  • Partner with operations leadership to continuously improve project delivery processes and best practices.
  • Support successful commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and final client acceptance of critical infrastructure systems.
