Candidate Location: Open to nationwide candidates. South Carolina residency is
not required. The hybrid schedule will be determined by the hiring manager after the candidate starts. Any travel or relocation expenses associated with onsite work will be the responsibility of the selected resource.
Position OverviewThe position will manage and coordinate strategic and tactical IT projects, including statewide enterprise and agency-level initiatives. The Project Manager will work closely with the Program Management Office, Division of Information Security, Enterprise Privacy Office, other state agencies, and private-sector professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Manage assigned enterprise IT projects from initiation through completion.
- Apply established project management methodologies and PMI/PMBOK practices.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Coordinate project activities with state agencies, internal teams, and private-sector project managers.
- Track state resources and overall project progress.
- Prepare regular project status reports and management updates.
- Manage project financial planning and budgeting activities.
- Identify priorities and ensure tasks are completed according to established schedules and goals.
- Communicate complex project information clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
- Maintain effective working relationships across multiple organizations.
- Complete project closeout activities, including lessons learned and archival of essential project documentation.
- Demonstrate leadership, influence, diplomacy, and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
Required Skills- Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business Management, Public Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- PMP certification or PMI training.
- 3+ years of project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, terminology, and PMI PMBOK.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, documents, and correspondence.
- Strong planning, organization, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Skills- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
